Invited Paper: Development and international cooperation of the electric industry in China

Electric Industry is the basic industry of the national economy and the key point of developing a country. Since the reforming and opening of China, the electric industry has been get success that attracts worldwide attention, by which the investment policy for the electric industry is to construct power fairs by multi-layers and multi-channels, "power plant is invested and constructed by everyone, and electric network is managed by the state". At the end of 1995, the installed capacity on the mainland of China is up to 0.217 billion kW, and the electric energy production is 1007 billion kWh per year. There are five trans-provincial networks, i.e. North China, Northeast, East China, Central China and Northwest network, and South joint managing network and 10 separated provincial networks, the capacity of the East China Network is over 3.4 million kW among these networks. In China on the all networks, the transformer equipment over 220 kV is 0.234 billion kW, and the transmission line is 115.6 thousands km.
