FACTORS INFLUENCING SPRING RATE, TEST DETERMINATION OF SPRING STIFFNESS AND SELECTION OF LINEAR SPRING

Some special relief valves have strict requirements for linear characteristic of spring, and it is required to depict correctly the spring rate of each point on spring by calculation on the basis of limited point test. This paper gives an explanation concerning the stiffness value P' of cylindrical compressive coil spring whose characteristic curve is fixed to be linear, the way of ensuring the precision of P = P'·F (P - load on spring, F - deflection of deformation of spring) and the method of selecting linear characteristic springs.
