Products of the Intelligent Transportation Systems Human Factors Research Program at Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center

摘要

Use of ITS products (e.g., human factors design tools) throughout the system development cycle will ensure that systems meet user requirements, are safe to operate, and result in the expected benefits and efficiencies. It is especially important to apply human factors design guidelines during the earliest possible stage of system development when design changes can be implemented in a cost effective manner. The research products discussed in this paper all emphasize providing design engineers with information and data which result in driver ITS system components that do not require costly redesign efforts.
