This paper summarizes a study prepared on behalf of the El Segundo Employers Association (ESEA) with financial support from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to identify ways in which transit services linking the El Segundo employment area to the planned Green Line rail stations could best be coordinated. The Metro Green Line is currently under construction in the median of the I-105 Freeway, extending from Norwalk to El Segundo, with revenue operations expected to begin in July of 1995. Five stations will be provided in the El Segundo area, a highly concentrated employment area just south of LAX Airport. Figure 1 at the end of this article illustrates the study area, building locations and transit stations. The Green Line Circulator Study was completed under an accelerated four-month time schedule so that shuttle services would be in place upon opening of the Green Line.
