摘要

This research evaluates the effects of shear rate, back pressure, and screw speed on the mechanical properties of long glass fiber-reinforced resin. A designed experiment was performed using shear rate, back pressure, and screw speed for the three variables used in a basic 8-run design with two factor levels. The experimental results showed that back pressure had the most effect on the mechanical properties. During processing, the cavity pressure was monitored and kept constant. A later experiment will determine the effects of a change in cavity pressure on mechanical properties.
