Full-scale measurements and last generation software correlation for the motons in waves of a semesubmersible floating production system

PETROBRAS, due to its interest in installing a Steel Catenary Riser (SCR) on the PETROBRAS XVIII performed Full-Scale measurements of both first and second order motion of this platform during the moth of December in 1994. This is a great opportunity to compare with Mathematical Modeling. For that matter. the WAMIT, a first and second order diffraction computer program for predicting the motion of bodies in waves has been used. The comparisons tent to validate both procedures (theoretical and Full-Scale) that have been adopted. They will be repeated next year after the installation of the SCR prototype.
