The present investigation deals with developing a numerical model to predict the impact response and damage study of toughened Graphite/Epoxy Composite plates at low velocity impact. The Dyna-Tup drop weight impact tests have been performed at 13 joules and 29 joules impact energy level with impact velocity of 2.4 m/s and 3.6 m/s respectively. The Hertzian contact law along with the damping term have been used in the numerical study. The model with the consideraiton of damping gives better contact response as compared to the model without damping. The extent of impact damage was measured through ultrasonic C-scan and compared with the numerical results. Azzi-Tsai-Hill failure theory have been used to predict the damage zone.
