摘要

ZnS/SiO_2 and CdS/SiO_2 semiconductor-doped silica glasses were prepared by the sol-gel process and in-situ growth technique. The third-order optical nonlinearity,χ~(3)/α, firstly evaluated from degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM), was on the order of 10~(-11) esu. The high value of χ~(3)/α resulted from a nonresonant origin is firstly published The mechanism of the enhanced optical nonlinearity was discussed.
