The emission spectra were measured for the sol-gel glass 5.7Na2O·19B2O3·75.35SiO2 with chemical composition prepared under different experimental conditions, and the characteristic features of emission spectra are discussed. The results show the broad visible (500-750 nm) and IR (850-1350 nm) emission with unique hght-ernitting properties were found in NBS sol-gel glass.
