A Heat-Pump laboratory was built in 1989 by the institute of HVAC Research of Qingdao Institute of Architectural and Civil Engineering cooperating with Swedish Royal Institute of Technology. The paper introduces this unit and the experimental method. Long-term observations and measurements on this unit containing medium of F-22 were conducted. The formulas of calculating COP for both heating and cooling are given. Several recommendations are given by the author. This achievement provides an important basis for both using and designing these kinds of heat-pump units.
