摘要

The present paper mentions the processes developed for the manufacture of lime-ash bricks in brief. A detailed study is reported which was conducted on the bricks produced at the molding pressure of 240 Kg/cm2 with different proportions of sand and lime with fly ash & pond ash at different steam autoclave pressures of 1, 3, 7, 10 and 14 Kg/Cm2 for 6 hours. The process has been evaluated with reference to the physical properties of bricks produced such as compressive strength, water absorption, bulk density, flexural strength, apparent porosity, tensile strength, linear drying shrinkage, thermal conductivity. The X-ray analysis of calcium silicate gel formed are reported here. Finally the recommendations are given.
