An Adaptive Non-linear Compensator to Improve Audio Characteristics of AM Broadcast Transmitters

AM Broadcast transmitters are nonlinear systems with time delay. In order to improve audio quality a solution is presented for compensation of this nonlinearity. The system is rebuilt by a model in order to get a prediction of the output. System parameters are estimated on-line using a Least Squares (LS) method. Special care is given to the case of non-persistently exciting input signals. An additional condition assures that parameters have minimum variation with changing input. Special weight is put to the achived results.
