Higher energy cost linked with the generation of more concentrated ozone, demands the complete optimization of the ozonation system considering ozone generator and ozonation reactor. A thermo-economic analysis is presented to establish a profit function in terms of variables such as specific energy consumption and ozonated gas quality. A "value" is assigned to the product flowing out the ozone generator. The profit function considers the potential revenue and the ozone production cost. Experiments have been conducted in various medias to investigate the quality function. It is shown that according to ozone generation conditions the ozonated oxygen in spite same concentration and same flow rate can have different ozonation efficiency.
