Effectively planning pilot studies

Pilot studies provide the ability to easily evaluate a lternative technologies and develop cost effective recommendations for retrofit of existing plants or construction of new ones. They are often necessary for accurate identification of solutions to water quality problems, obtaining regulatory approval, and training operation staff on new treatment processes. Crucial to the success of pilot studies is adequate planning.
