ExtraMED - Third World journals on CD-ROM

摘要

ExtraMED contains the full image (text and illustrations) of some 200 of the principal non-MEDLINE health journals' on a monthly CD-ROM disc. Subscriptions are sold at a flat rate, with no further royalty charges. The main objectives of the project are (a) to bring developing country health journals into the mainstream of research literature, (b) to enhance international awareness of the journals, (c) to facilitate the extraction of development-related information and of tropical disease information, and (d) to improve the health and biomedical information-producing capabilities of developing countries by providing a substantial boost to the income of their principal journals.
