The paper describes PJRMI: support for remote method invocation inthe context of the object oriented, orthogonally persistent system ofthe PJama project. It examines the issues raised by combining orthogonalpersistence with distribution. An evaluation is made of the currentimplementation and an indication is made of the challenges ahead
