May document analysis tools bridge the gap between paper andworkflows? A critical survey

The paper describes an approach for workflow-centered documentmanagement by means of integrating document analysis tools and workflowmanagement systems. From the document analysis point of view these toolsare well-suited to bridge the existing gap between paper and workflowand therefore lead to increased efficiency. The authors present anoverview on recent developments in document analysis, but also take acritical look at the limits of these techniques
