It is well known that naturally occurring color is oft4e caused by humic substances with a molecular weight range from 500 to 10,000.A molecular weight characterization of the dissolved organic matter (DOM) for three Southern California groundwaters containing low,moderate,and high levels of both color and trihlaomethane potential (THMFP) has bene performed to provide molecular weight fingerprints tha twere employed to select potential treatment strategies.
