Summary form only given. The remote exposure reactor designreported previously used uncooled flat panels made of printed circuitboard material. A rise in panel temperature and heating of the airflowlimited the duration of operation of the RER to 25 seconds. We haveredesigned the RER with water-cooled electrodes, and a moresophisticated gas flow system, which now allow us to operate the RERconfiguration indefinitely. Active species in the airflow can either berecirculated to build up their concentration, or used in a single-passmode like a leaf blower to sterilize surfaces with entrained activespecies, details of the redesign and examples of sterilization of moreresistant microorganisms will be used to illustrate the effectiveness ofthe RER
