The Constellation Space Suit System (CSSS) is the first new space suit to be developed for NASA since the Apollo era. It is a key component of the Extravehicular Activity (EVA) System for the Constellation Program (CxP). The CSSS is divided into two configurations: Configuration 1 will be used for launch, entry, abort, and contingency EVA's, while Configuration 2 will be used for lunar surface EVA's. This paper presents preliminary thermal modeling and analysis work for the Configuration 1 suit to date. Driving thermal requirements are identified and analysis results for the emerging design are presented.
