After ANITA's successful air quality measurements on the ISS, the follow-on measurement system ANITA2 will be calibrated to identify and quantify simultaneously and quasi on-line over 30 of the most important trace gases in the cabin atmosphere (like ANITA, but with further improved performance). The optimised instrument in combination with sophisticated analysis software - based on advanced simulations and statistical regression techniques - will constitute a reliable and compact multi-gas air quality monitor. ANITA2 shall be able to continuously measure the ISS air conditions quasi-online from 2015 to at least 2020.
