摘要

As well known, magnesia is an important basic refractory material with high refractoriness and good corrosion resistance to basic slag. However, its high thermal expansion coefficient, high surface energy and weak intercrystal bonding lead to poor resistances to thermal shock and to slag penetration. It is therefore necessary to introduce other favorable components or phases to compensate such weaknesses of magnesia rich refractories.
