German Nuclear Power Plants Utility Ageing Management -Long Term Fatigue Evaluation of Safety Relevant Components

In USA Ageing Management activities have begun in the middle of the eighties motivated by the extension of the operating licence. In contrast to Germany the operating licence for USA NPP is temporary and thus, one has to decide whether to extend this operating licence and if to define specific conditions to keep. Meanwhile lifetime extension has been practiced for nearly half of the 104 US-American NPPs from 40 to 60 years.
