Sleep related breathing disorders (SRBD) represent a major disease in sleep medicine. For diagnosis and therapy follow-up, extensive overnight investigations are required, encompassing long-term measurement of multiple biosignals in specialized sleep disorders centers. To date, evaluation of the examination is realized by comprehensive visual inspection of the data by an expert. To facilitate and improve diagnostics, current attemps in sleep research are made to develop computer aided diagnosis tools as well as to provide mobile sensor devices for biosignal measurement in the patient's ambience.We present a gridbased infrastructure for automated detection of SRBD events using overnight electrocardiography (ECG) signal. The Grid infrastructure offers both computing power and storage capacity and is accessible from clinical environments, the doctor's office or even the patient's home.
