Novel PANDA fiber type polarization beam combiners for 980nm and 1480nm band were proposed. Insertion losses of both types were successfully reduced to 0.1 dB/0.2dB (for slow and fast axis, 1480nm type) and 0.1/0.3 dB (for slow and fast axis, 980nm type). It was also confirmed that reliability of these devices was high through telcordia 1209 and 4,000 hours long term temperature cycling test. A compact passive optical gain block module for booster amplifier was demonstrated as an example of an application.
