Critical current densities and magnetic flux pinning in high-Tc grain boundary junctions is studied by using one-dimensional array of resistively shunted Josephson junctions. To include the unconventional (pure or mixed) d-wave symmetry of the superconducting order parameter we let the array to consist of both conventionla (0)- and unconventional (pi)- junctions. According to results the presence of unconventional junctions may significantly improve the magnetic flux pinning properties and the critical current densities of grain boundary junction.s
