The actively clamped resonant DC link inverter (ACRDCLI) has theadvantages of low switching losses and relatively simple topology. Itsdisadvantages are its high currents and high losses in the resonantinductor and in the clamp device. In order to decrease the losses in theresonant inductor and in the devices, a novel two amplitudes scheme ispresented here. Various simulation waveforms and experimental resultsshow that the two amplitudes actively clamped resonant DC link inverterhas a good output current and the losses in the resonant inductor and inthe clamp device are much lower than the traditional actively clampedresonant DC link inverter
