Structural Control became the hope for solving difficulties imposed by the needs in Civil Engineering for longer bridges and taller buildings. In the actual stage, practical and experimental applications of active control are very rare and they are using simple models and few active devices. In the paper classical optimal control with full known states is presented. The parameters for this control strategy are proposed to be automatically generated, based on energetic interpretation for the optimization index. For a very long tree-dimensional cable-stayed bridge, equipped with many active devices, the proposed method is used. The selected results show excellent performance, validating the strategy.
