Presents a stereo vision method based on quadric curves. Differentto the previous curve based stereo method in which curves in images areused for computing the features of the points and for establishing thepoint-point correspondence between the left and the right image, theauthors provide a closed form solution for the global matching criterionof two quadric curves in two images and furthermore, a closed formsolution for the global reconstruction of the conics in the scene. It isshown that the matching of two quadric curves can be establishedglobally and the reconstruction can be performed by solving three onevariable quadric equations.
