New photonic and electronic hybrid switchingnetworks,WD&MMT switching networks,which are constructed in combination with photonic wavelength-division switching and electronic memory matrix time switching technique,are proposed.The WD&MMT switching networks can be used to construct large line-capacity switching networks with a small amount of the hardware,because of their very large total multiplexity given by the product of wavelengthdivision,time-division and space-division multiplexity.Growable WD&MMT switching networks structures,which can increase the hardware in proportion to the required linecapacity.are also shown.Proposed WD&MMT switching networks are one of the strong candidates for future B-ISDN H4 signals STM switching networks.
