Before any underground lining begins, an important decision must be lade about the Material to be lined. That is which is ore that should be lined out and sent to be processed and which is the waste. This latter will be either unmined or sent to the waste pile. This decision can only be accurately lade once the cutoff grade is determined. The cutoff grade distinguishes between ore and non-ore. However, the decision Baking is not an easy later since it is influenced by many technical and economic factors. The problem of determining cutoff grades from a mathematical point of veiw is considered here. A method of solusion based on dynamic programing is used.
