Acute optic nerve sheath fenestration with the free-electron laser

摘要

The free electron laser (FEL) appears capable of efficiently performing an optic nerve sheath fenestration in a small space with minimal acute damage. Both the FEL and knife incisions result in a rapid glial response at the site of fenestration even when optic nerve integrity is not compromised.
