摘要

The two-stage equalizer of A. Gersho and T.L. Lim is analyzed and simulation results of its oerformance are presented. An algorithm that assures fast initial convergence with moderate computational cost is also described. Only about 200 to 250 iterations are necessary for the convergence of the equalizer employed in 9600 bit/s OAM data transmission system over a telephone channel. The simulation results also indicate that the overall performance of the eaualizer critically depends on the performance of the first stage equalizer.
