The paper presents a novel Magnetorheological(MR) Shock absorber with Magnetostrictive(MS) Materials. MR fluid is capable of controlling the absorbing system with moving part such as piston rods, etc. The behaviours of MR Shock absorbers are modelled as electro current induced electromagnetic models based on the Bingham flow. In order to control the braking force along with increasing shear stress of the fluid by the electromagnetic field, it is prerequisite how to design the viscous and magnetic field component through the passage and its gap size. This paper depicts the proposal a semi-active MR Shock Absorber by adjusting the small gap size of the passage of the MR fluid using a electromagnet of Magnctostrictive(MS) material.
