Power System Harmonics: Past, Present, and Future

摘要

This paper explores the evolution that has taken place in the electrical design and construction industry regarding harmonics in the electrical power distribution system. Beginning in the mid-1980's, numerous publications detailed how the introduction of harmonics into the electrical power distribution system was creating an eminent hazard to electrical equipment designed for 60 Hertz operation. Many articles offered advice on how to design electrical systems to prevent the overheating and failure of components.
