摘要

This paper presents a shipborne vessel monitoring system, where position reports of the shipborne vessel are transmitted with the use of LoRa technology, and is received by a receiver module, where the position data is parsed and displayed for the end-user's consumption. This work provides an alternative ship-tracking system to the existing Automatic Identification System (AIS), where the packet encapsulation used for AIS devices will also be used for the LoRa-based Vessel Monitoring System.
