In this paper, the problem of calculating the isolation between antennas on a perfectly conducting circular cylinder is considered. The isolation is calculated by a hybrid MoM驴UTD technique. It is impractical to calculate the isolation between antennas influenced by the electrically large system only by using the method of moment (MoM) because such method consumes too much memory and computing resources. On the other hand, the uniform geometrical theory of diffraction (UTD), though providing a popular solution to process electrically large objects, is an asymptotic method that cannot deliver a computing accuracy as high as MoM method. The combination of MoM and UTD takes the advantages of both methods and efficiently solves the problem of an electrically large object. The isolation between wire antennas is computed with the influence of the electrically large cylindrical surface being considered and sweep-frequency results are obtained, which cannot be delivered by MoM.
