摘要

In this paper, a new family eugenics based evolution (FEBE) theory is proposed to estimate the faulty section in power system. To apply the method to solve this estimation problem, orthogonal design technique is introduced into the course of offspring’s breeding inside a family, so as to enhance the behavior amelioration of divides against pre maturity and quicken the convergence of low convergence speed at last period. The proposed method is versatile and can deal with uncertainties in fault section estimation, such as the cases with failure operations of relays and circuit breakers, or multiple faults at the same time. Test results for a sample power system have shown that the FEBE approach developed for fault-section estimation is feasible and efficient.
