In the presented paper attention is paid to the determination of irrigation water requirements by certain thermophilous fruit crops – apricot and peach – very frequently grown in our conditions. The essential economic prerequisites for any producer are to achieve regular yields and to safeguard conditions that would lead to high-quality fruits – apricot and peach. These may be achieved only, through a high standard of agricultural practice including moistening irrigation. Particularly, in conditions of the climatic change, in accordance with GCM models, when the number of months with soil water deficits grows, it is necessary to emphasise the need to install irrigation systems not only, as soon as new crops are established or starting of irrigation as an optimum measure, but also in older, less yielding orchards.
