摘要

It is known that wear and friction give rise to fragmented, nanocrystalline and amorphous surface layers. These layers differ in thickness varying from fractions of a micron to several microns and are responsible for reduced friction coefficient and increased wear resistance. The paper presents the results of an experimental investigation of the structure and phase states formed at friction and of the tribological performance of specimens before and after ion implantation.
