125th anniversary of the Metre Convention; the past, present and future of the convention

摘要

After a description of the origin and reasons for creation of the Metre Convention, the author proposes that it will have an increasingly important place in international affairs because requirements for measurements traceable to the SI have become a central feature in trade agreements.
