We study the performance of slotted Aloha random access ad-hoc networks with multipacket reception capability. The key issue of converting the physical layer packet success to the link layer success in an ad-hoc environment is addressed and a closed form solution is provided. Based on a finite population model, the network is characterized by a Markov-chain. Throughput and delay are derived for such networks. Stability behavior is investigated in terms of the first exit time (FET). Numerical results are also provided to gain insights into the effect of multipacket reception on the network performance.
