A description is presented of a research effort investigating the intent inferencing/activity tracking capabilities of the knowledge-based system, OFMspert, in the domain of the commercial flight deck of the B-727. The research entails deriving an operator functional model for the cockpit, modifying the present implementation of OFMspert to an aviation scenario, and validating that the activity tracker does in fact infer pilot intentions and understand the real-time complex actions on the flight deck.
