A test of the mechanism of an agent for reducing grounding resistance is presented. The test results show that there exists an area where the electric liquid of the resistance-reducing agent permeates through when the grounding resistance-reducing agent is embedded in the earth. The author has determined, through theoretical analysis and calculation, the thickness of the permeation layer and its average soil resistivity. The thickness of the permeation layer is not large, generally about 10 centimeters. It has a fairly well-distributed effect on voltage. Several measurements have indicated that the relation between improvement of rate of reducing resistance and the used quantity of agent of decreasing grounding resistance is provided with the saturation property.
