Performance results of the Tokamak de Varennes toroidal field coil joint

The Tokamak de Varennes has operated for 18 mo with some 4000 full power toroidal field coil pulses of up to 6-s duration. The tokamak is presently being retrofitted with a set of eight poloidal field coils located in the vacuum vessel. The performance of the toroidal-field-coil joints located at the upper interior corner of the coils and experience gained during their recent disassembly are discussed in detail.
