Processing methods employing optical transform image modulation techniques (OTIM), have shown that very significant improvements in signal-to-background discrimination and clutter rejection can be achieved for remote sensing applications, and current research shows that these methods can also be incorporated into electro-optic data processing schemes with significant advantages. The capability of OTIM configurations to manipulate signals in several domains simultaneously also brings additional benefits.
