The characteristic of root and shoot development of winter wheat was studied, and the possiblity, objective and time of regulation of root/shoot growth was also approached in this apepr. Pot cultivation with two soil water treatments was conducted in China Agricultural Experimental Station Hebei province. The experiemnt results indicate that the root system of winter wheat are directly affected by soil water environemt, the sensitivity of the advantitious roots to soil water stress is higher than that of teh primary roots.
