The changes of the grain sizes, lattice constants and sensing properties for the low temperature nanosized synthesized SrTiO_(3-δ) oxygen gas sensors were investigated in the high energy ball milling and the annealing processes respectively. The grain sizes and lattice constants of the materials were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD: SHIMADZU XRD-6000 X-ray diffractometer) and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM: Jeol JEM2010 Transmission Electron Microscope). The sensing properties of the sensors were measured using National Instrument Labview 6.1 package. Normally, the gas sensing properties can be improved with the use of nanosized materials for the sensing layer. In this paper, the grain size effect on the properties of the materials and sensors were characterized during the high energy ball milling and the annealing processes, and the effects of these two processes on the properties of the materials and sensors were also compared and analyzed.
