A review of the legal and practical mechanism of patent and trade secret protection and the relative merits and drawbacks of each. Both approaches to intellectual property protection will be discussed individually, compared and contrasted, and strategies will be presented for when to rely on patentrnprotection and when to rely on trade secret protection to maximize the value of you IP.
