摘要

Continuum Damage Healing Mechanics is an extension of Continuum Damage Mechanics recently developed by the authors to model healing processes in a variety of materials including rock salt, sinterized metals, ceramics, and polymer-matrix composites, bone and so on. An overview of CDHM is presented followed by a description of parameter identification. Results are shown in order to validate the numerical model for healing of damaged polymeric matrix composite. Healed and not healed cases are discussed in order show the model capability and to describe possible evolution of the healed system. Relevant aspects about the fabrication of healing microcapsules and composites loaded with microcapsules and healing catalyst are discussed
